Your Lombok–Komodo expedition is designed as a guided, adventure-first escape for travellers who want the trip they dreamed about as kids: climbing a volcano, sleeping on a shared boat, swimming with whale sharks, and sailing into Komodo. Instead of trying to organise treks, boats, permits and islands alone, you step into a route arranged with trusted local partners and a clear, realistic flow between islands.

Your programme may include:

Volcano & North Lombok Trek

• Sunrise or early-morning hike on a volcano ridge or mountain viewpoint in the Lombok highlands (Rinjani area)
• Cooling off at jungle waterfalls such as Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep
• Local lunch with mountain or village views
• Transfer toward the harbour to prepare for your boat departure

This first stage sets the tone: mountain air, jungle rivers and the feeling of starting a real expedition, not a standard holiday.

3-Day Sailing Expedition: Lombok to Komodo

You board a simple shared wooden boat (often around 18 people sleeping together on deck-style bunks). Life on board is basic but unforgettable: barefoot, salty, under the open sky.

Over three days you may:

• Sail past the coastlines of Lombok and Sumbawa
• Stop at small islands or sandbars to swim and snorkel
• Experience a whale shark encounter from a traditional fishing platform in Saleh Bay (seasonal and weather-dependent)
• Watch sunsets from the deck and stargaze at night

This is not a luxury cruise. It is camp-at-sea: shared space, simple meals, big stories and the kind of adventure people talk about for years.

Komodo National Park Exploration (Recommended 2 Days)

Once you arrive in Labuan Bajo (Flores), your sailing expedition ends and you meet your Komodo partner operator. From there, a typical 2-day Komodo experience may include:

Day 1
• Padar Island sunrise viewpoint
• Guided Komodo dragon trek (Rinca or Komodo)
• Snorkelling and beach time at Pink Beach

Day 2
• Manta Point (conditions permitting)
• Taka Makassar sandbar
• Snorkelling at Kanawa or another reef island

This gives enough time to see the main highlights without rushing through the park in a single day.

Optional Komodo Diving (2–3 Days, Advanced Only)

For experienced divers, Komodo offers some of the most powerful and exciting dive sites in the world, with strong currents and rich marine life. A separate 2–3 day dive extension can be arranged locally and may include sites such as Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock or manta-focused locations, depending on level, season and conditions.

This part of the journey is always coordinated with certified dive operators and is only suitable for divers with the required experience and certifications.

Rest Day & Departure

After sailing, trekking, snorkelling and (if chosen) diving, a rest day in Labuan Bajo is strongly recommended before flying. This day may include:

• Slow café time and markets
• Light swimming or just poolside rest
• Rooftop sunset overlooking the bay
